Gmundner Keramik
Gmundner Keramik in the ceramic town of Gmunden offers stunning pieces of ceramic art lovingly crafted by hand as it was 300 years ago. Each piece is unique and fashioned from the raw material which is prepared and worked into shape, and after adjustments are made by hand is fired for the first time then glazed. After that the plates, coffee pots and milk jugs then go to the heart of the factory and the hand painting department, and finally the product is fired for the second time, resulting in the necessary hardness, and the colours come into their own. Gmundner Keramik is the largest ceramic manufacturer in mid Europe and the production capacity is about 10,000 pieces a day, guided tours are available.
